Week #48

Welcome to my Week #48, and can you believe it's December already (it's mad, it seems like it was only January yesterday)

Well on with the show:

Monday - Wednesday

Monday to Wednesday was quiet, spent at work catching up with meeting minutes, and what not.

Thursday was my last day at work as I was off Friday (and today). I painted my nails ready for seeing the new Hunger Games movie on Friday.

Friday we went to the Metro Centre where we started our Christmas shopping, and we saw The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which was fantastic, I loved it.

Saturday was spent with my mum in York (which was packed, we spent 2 and a half hours there before we decided to go home, and shop in the local town centre).

Sunday was spent seeing the local reindeer parade, and then we went to Middlesbrough to see the Coca-Cola Truck and also ended up seeing the Christmas lights switch on.

Week #47

Welcome to Week #47

Finally back on track with My Weeks, so let's get on with the show.

Monday - Wednesday
This week was a busy one.

Monday me and my partner went to see 30 Seconds to Mars at the Metro Radio Area (we were standing and got such a great view).

30 Seconds to Mars - Metro Radio Arena

Tuesday, we had my stepson for the night.

Wednesday was time out at work (the surgery closes for a half day and we staff go off and do training).

Thursday - Sunday
This week was Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary, and we managed to catch up with Mark Gatiss's docudrama An Adventure in Time and Space (which was fantastic and had me crying by the end). I also went round my friends for a nice catch up.

Friday, we had Thomas so that was spent doing my nails for Doctor Who (In the Navy - Bourjois). The World Book Night books were also released today, a day early and there are some great ones.

Saturday was The Day of the Doctor and we went to our local Cineworld to see it (I have never seen it so busy and people were dressed up as Matt Smith, was fantastic)

Sunday, meant to be a lazy day but I had some retail therapy using my boots points (Boots Points Haul)

Week #46

Sorry for my late posting of my Weeks but I had such a busy week I never had the time to do anything.

So here goes for week 46:

Monday - Wednesday
Monday was quiet, had the monthly QOF meeting (Meaning more work to be done ready for April 2013).

Tuesday was the yearly Inter-Surgery Quiz (this is all t;he surgeries in the area join up for a local quiz night in aid of local charities) and this year we won, both our teams came 1st and 2nd (Carmel Sutra and Sore Losers)

Wednesday I had a hospital appointment for an ultrasound so spent 6 hours fasting.

Thursday we went to see Lumiere at Durham (as well as Sunday, we took my mum and dad with us)

As you can see there were some great installations (Full blog post coming soon)

Friday was quiet.

Saturday was my nephew's 21st party so Saturday was a mad dash of getting nails done, sorting hair out.

Sunday was Lumiere again to catch some of the things that we missed the 1st time around.

My Week #45

Welcome to my Week #45

Week #45 Part 1
Week 45 Part 1

The first half of the week was busy, I had three days off of work, so it was spent, in the local town centre shopping (naturally).

Tuesday we went to a furniture scheme to have a look for a new bed frame as ours broke and we managed to pick a nice one up for £60 and it doesn't have wooden slats its a metal mesh which is fantastic.

Wednesday, was spent in Middlesbrough shopping, and we went to see Thor: The Dark World, brilliant movie (review to come soon).

Week #45 Part 2
Week 45 Part 2
Thursday, and it was back to work, but on the evening I had to get myself sorted out as I was going out on Friday night, so I needed to find my hair straighteners and straighten my hair, and paint my nails (My Vampire is Buff - O.P.I) to match my outfit.

Friday was spent at work, and on the night I went to my partners work do, it was a leaving do for one of their staff and partners had been invited. We ended up leaving at 10PM as my partner was feeling under the weather and he just wanted to curl up in bed.

Saturday was spent having a lie in before we had to go and collect my stepson, and try to keep him entertained.

Sunday has been spent just having a really lazy day of doing nothing, barring blog write ups, blog planning for the week and typing up my blog posts.

thanks for tuning in

Blackpool Tower

Trams

The TARDIS

Friday night I repainted my nails ready or Blackpool on Saturday, where we went to see the illuminations (the weather was crappy, and we spent 2 hours in traffic from Gynn Square to the end of the seafront.

Week #43

Welcome to Week 43.

Let's get on with the show.

Week 43 - Part 1
The start of the week was quite quiet, had the regular tuesday meeting, and was scanning all day Wednesday.

The last part of the week was busier I started earlier on Thursday as we had time out so it allowed for me to finish earlier which is always good.

Friday I changed my nail polish colour and put on Essie's After School Boy Blazer (A review will be going on my sites Beauty Skool Dropout and Nail Polish-ed).

Saturday and Sunday were spent with my stepson, we ended up in Clarks getting his feet measured (he has grown so we need to get him some new shoes).

You may have noticed through my week I had little post it flags, I have added these as a reminder for blog posts that are due during the week, it's to help keep me blogging regularly, and not leave really long gaps between my posts.

Caran d'Ache Eco Ballpoint Retractable Pen 826

DISCLAIMER: All opinions are my own and I bought the product with my own money.

Caran d'Ache are a Swiss company known for their fine writing instruments especially their gold and jewlled pens. The eco ballpoint is priced at the lower end of their range.

Caran d'Ache sample
Caran d'Ache Ballpoint
The hexagonal barrel allows for easy grip and stops the pen from slipping out of your hand. The pen writes with a thin line, this allows for finer writing in small spaces.

A good thing about this pen is that it is refillable (hence the eco part of the name). It also comes in four colours (blue, black green, and red), now I could be wrong about how many colours the pen is available in but on Cult Pens it is 4.

As I mentioned I bought the black and the blue on Cult Pens for £2.95 each. These pens do write quite nicely and are now a staple in my pencil case.

Week #42

Welcome to Week 42.

I'm getting back into the swing of posting on a Monday, but for the next couple of weeks I'm gonna try posting my new weeks on a Sunday (it means I have more time to spend on the post)

Week 42
Week 42

As you can see again Week 42 was an empty week. It was flu week again so massively busy at work but Monday afternoon I started to get a sore throat and on Tuesday I ended up with a full blown cold, so Tuesday onwards was taken as sick days from work (so expect my next My Week post to be completely packed with work to do's and blog posts to do)

Lincoln Center - NYC

N.Y.C - Lincoln Center

I've had this polish since Christmas 2012, and have only just managed to use it.

This was a lovely dark red, and it went on quite well, wasn't too drippy. It did blob around the sides of my nails so the correcter pen was out in full force.

I will use this colour again, and I think this is a nice colour for Autumn.

Week #40

Week 40 - Part 1

Week 40 - Part 2

This week was a slow one.

At work we were mostly getting ready for the start of our flu clinics, my partner and I celebrated 2 years together, had my flu jab.

I did a first order from nailpolishdirect.co.uk and order some polish's from O.P.I. and China Glaze (post on O.P.I. - Can't Find my Czechbook to come)

On the Sunday it was my partner and I's anniversary, we ended up at Teesside Park and Middlesbrough shopping. We also went for a meal, and went to see Filth (starring James McAvoy)

So it was quite a quiet week.

Models Own - Red Red Wine

Red Red Wine - Models Own

I recently painted my nails using Models Own Red Red Wine. I have only used this once before an age ago and thought I would use it again.

It's a really nice colour and changes colour under different types of light. I will admit the formula is quite runny but it shows quite a nice colour.

Thanks for tuning in.

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover

DISCLAIMER: all views are my own and this was bought with my own money

I was in Boots recently perusing the cosmetic aisles when I saw this on the Bourjois stand. Having recently got back onto nail polish I thought this might be worth a try.

So I have managed to use it and I was blown away by how good it is. I'll admit the smell is horrid but it takes the polish off really quick.

This is a product I will be buying again it is so worth the money.

Currently Reading: Strangers on a Train - Priya Basil

I finished Deirdre and Desire and have now started reading Stranfers on a Train. It is only a quick read so I'll have it finished later. So far it is quite a good read and number 83 I think for my 100 books challenge.

Bourjois 1 Seconde nail enamel - 18 High Tech

Disclaimer: I have not been paid to review the product, opinions are my own

As I said in a previous post I am getting back into nail polish, so while browsing some beauty blogs I found the Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Enamel, boasting that you only need 1 coat and it dries within 50 seconds (it was boasting quite a lot for a nail enamel so I thought I had to try it)

I chose shade 18/ High Tech which is a gold colour

Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Enamel - High Tech
Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Enamel - 18 High Tech

Now I applied 1 coat and to me it just did not look right, to me it looked like it needed 2 coats (so it failed on that boast, but that could just be the colour I chose)

When I added two coats it did look a lot better but because of the two coats the drying time did take a bit longer.

Bourjois 1 Seconde (High Tech)
With 2 coats

I did like the size of the applicator as it did conform to the size of your nail and it was quite quick and easy to do. The drying time was still good even with 2 coats.

Overall it's a nice colour but I might only wear this when I'm on a night out.
