Previously loved the rest of the series and this is book 1 for September off of my September list.

Week #32

Welcome to My Week 32,

Week 32 Part 1

Monday to Wednesday was somewhat busy especially at work, we had a holter test that had to be downloaded and sent off but due to scheduling conflicts between me and the HCA it had to be moved a couple of times

I also decided that I need to update my book journal (I take a notebook with me at all times to write up notes about the book so that when I come back to do a write up I always have notes about the story and the characters) Am way behind with updating it so that was a main priority on Tuesday. I have been using an ARC notebook as my book journal but I have read 70 books so far this year and it just can't take anymore pages so I was needing too buy some A5 poly pockets at the weekend and a A5 lever arch file to fit it all in.

Wednesday, me and my partner went to see Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa (I will be doing a review soon on this) It was absolutely hilarious go and see it if you havent yet, I was crying with laughter.

Thursday was a quiet day the cats had an appointment at the vets for their boosters and a couple of treatments.

Friday was spent worrying about needing to program a holter test as the HCA who does them is on holiday and there was a request from the GP for a patient to have one done. I also had a meeting regarding an information package that we are putting into use at the surgery, and at lunch time I was told I shouldn't have been in (I actually had the day off and totally forgot about it), but instead of wasting half a day I just stayed in for the rest of the day and added it back onto my hols.

The weekend was spent relaxing as last weekend was quite a stressful one, I headed into the town centre and at the Art Shop I came across some Alice in Wonderland Stamps and I stood there for 5 minutes thinking wether I should buy them or not (as you can see I did and they look fantastic). We took my stepson to see Newcastle Diamonds vs Redcar Bears (a huge win for us 58-37)

Week #28

Welcome to my Week 29:

Week 29 in Birdie

Week 29 was quite quiet, managed to catch up on my reading, caught up with a gossip with one of my friends, and my partner took his son on his first ever nursery trip.

It also came out at the weekend that actor Cory Monteith has passed away, I'm a latecomer to Glee but that show is addictive. It is very sad news and at only 31.

Smudge's kittens are over 2 weeks old and getting huge, on Wednesday, it was very upsetting as we lost the last of Maggie's kittens and one of Smudge's so a very sad day for us all.

Rachel Caine signing

Yesterday I was lucky enough to meet Rachel Caine, Author of the Morganville series of books.

I got a copy of Fall of Night signed by the lady herself and she was nice enough to have her picture taken with me.

As we were all getting our books signed we also received a Morganville tote bag, a glow in the dark wristband saying 'Morganville Resident', and a Morganville ID card (quite cool, have placed this in Violet)










And here is me with the lady herself, she was a very nice lady, and can't wait to read the new book, (have just finished Ghost Town, and five books behind)

Stationery Finds

While I was off on Friday, me and my partner had a look round the local town centre, and I found some good stuff:

Art Shop

We have a shop in the town centre that deals specifically with arts and crafts, I'd previously seen paper in there and thought they might make good dividers in Jack (My Filofax, I've christened him lol)

Dominoes, blue leaf, and the Wicked Witch of the West

 These I thought would make great dividers (will post in the future about my Filofax setup still tweaking it abit).

 I also found these small sticky notes and some washi tape, thought these would make a good addition to my craft box (I will do a post on my craft box and contents in the near future).

 I also had a look in our local rymans and grabbed a date stamp for my book journal, then I saw the duck stickers and sticky notes (I love ducks, as seen with my banner lol)

 I also had a look in our local Wilkinsons and came across this washi tape, (I have been looking for a yellow one for the summer months) I also found the sticky notes and thought they would look good in October.

My World Book Night Books

Today was the day that I went to collect my books ready for World Book Night (which is next Tuesday). This is going to be photo heavy so be warned .

The Host

Me, my partner and my niece both went to see The Host on Wednesday starring Saorsie Ronan, Jake Abel, and Max Irons.

The Host

I'd already read the book (written by Stephenie Meyer) last June and fell in love with the characters, so to see it being made into a movie, I had to go and see it.

I thought it was really good and quite truthful to the book, fair enough they probably did cut some stuff out but everything that was relevant to the story was there.

I have to admit I thought Jake Abel was a brilliant Ian, he brought a lot of intensity to the character, and I loved the relationship that he had with Wanda.

Overall to me a good movie.

Monthly Goals: April 2013

From now on I am going to set myself monthly goals which I will try to adhere to.

Goals for April 2013

• To join slimming world.
• Keep on target for my 100 book challenge.
• Organise living space
• Save £100 towards deposit.

There's not many goals this month but start small and see what happens in the meantime.

Will keep you updated at the end of the month with how I do with these goals, and will set myself new ones.

Due to the overwhelming amount of books that I have accumulated and still have to read I am making a list of books to read a month. The reason behind this is if I set myself a monthly target I might be able to stay on track for my 100 books in 2013.

World Book Night 2013

Last year I participated in a charity event called World Book Night and absolutely loved the whole experience and would recommend it to anyone.

This year World Book Night takes place on 23rd April 2013, and I am over the moon to be taking part again by giving out Noughts & Crosses by Malorie Blackman.

It is a brilliant cause, and one that is sure to be another brilliant night.
